Reverend Lawrence Vogel started the Adam Hauersperger and Peter Hauersperger family histories in 1922 and published his final copy in 1972 when he was 65 years old. Adam and Peter were brothers. I have been working on adding to it since the early 1970s.
Adam Hauersperger
and Magdalena "Lena" Klein
were married in Germany and came to the United States in 1853 from Haspeischied, Bitche, (Alsace Lorraine) Germany (now part of France).
They left from the port of Havre, France on the ship 'Elizabeth Hamilton' and arrived in New Orleans, Louisiana on January 26, 1852.
The ocean voyage took approximately two months.
They homesteaded 80 acres located four miles south of Hayden, Indiana.
At the time of their arrival in this area, Hayden was known as Hardenburg and the Four Corners community was known as Buena Vista.
Four Corners is located in Spencer Township, Jennings County, Indiana.
Adam was born May 4, 1818 in Germany, died November 14, 1895 at the age of 77, and was laid to rest in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Four Corners, Indiana
Lena was born September 10, 1824 in Galgus, Germany, died February 19, 1915 at the age of 91, and was laid to rest in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Four Corners, Indiana.
Adam was the second of thirteen children born to Nicolas and Elisabeth Maginot Hauersperger.

Adam and Lena were blessed with six children: Anna, Adam, Nicholas, Barbara, Mary, and Elizabeth.
Anna Mary Hauersperger married Peter Vogel on November 14, 1865 at Four Corners, Jennings County, Indiana. Anna was born July 8, 1846 in Germany, died August 3, 1908 at Seymour, Indiana, and was laid to rest August 5, 1908 in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Four Corners, Indiana. Peter was born February 2, 1836 in Germany, died February 12, 1880, and was laid to rest in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Four Corners, Indiana. Peter resided near the Hauersperger family in Alsace Lorraine, Germany (now a part of France) and came to the United States in 1858. He settled near the Hauersperger family south of Four Corners.
Adam H. Hauersperger married Margaret Gerringer on November 21, 1876 at Four Corners, Indiana. Adam was born April 14, 1853 in Jennings County, Indiana, died February 23, 1932 in Jennings County, Indiana, and was laid to rest February 25, 1932 in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Four Corners, Indiana. Margaret was born November 25, 1856 in Jennings County, Indiana, the daughter of Nicholas and Barbara Weiss Gerringer, died September 14, 1930 in Jennings County, Indiana, and was laid to rest September 19, 1930 in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Four Corners, Indiana. Margaret is the sister of Magdalena Gerringer (Nicholas Hauersperger's wife).
Nicholas "Nick" Hauersperger married Magdalena "Lena" Gerringer on February 5, 1879 at Four Corners, Indiana. Nick was born November 1, 1854 in Jennings County, Indiana, died January 4, 1892, and is laid to rest in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Four Corners, Indiana. Lena was born September 6, 1859 in Jennings County, Indiana, the daughter of Nicholas and Barbara Weiss Gerringer, died November 20, 1935 in Jennings County, Indiana, and was laid to rest November 22, 1935 in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Four Corners, Indiana. Lena is the sister of Margaret Gerringer (Adam Hauersperger's wife).
Barbara Hauersperger was born March 13, 1857 at Hardenburg (Hayden), Indiana. Barbara entered the Sisters of St. Francis Convent at Oldenburg, Indiana in June, 1876 and took the name Sister Mary Fabiana. At the time of her death on February 4, 1944, she had served God for 67 years and 7 months. She is laid to rest in St. Francis Convent Cemetery, Oldenburg, Indiana.
Mary Magdalena "Lena" Hauersperger married Frederick "Fritz" Baurle on November 15, 1881 at Four Corners, Indiana. Lena was born February 20, 1859 in Jennings County, Indiana, died March 11, 1935 at Seymour, Indiana, and was laid to rest March 13, 1935 in Catholic Cemetery, Seymour, Indiana. Fritz was born February 25, 1852 in Baden, Germany, died March 21, 1927 at Seymour, Indiana, and was laid to rest March 23, 1927 in Catholic Cemetery, Seymour, Indiana. Fritz came to the United States in 1880.
Elizabeth Hauersperger married Joseph Bernard Bertram on November 14, 1882 at Four Corners, Indiana. Elizabeth was born December 3, 1859 in Jennings County, Indiana, died May 12, 1929, and was laid to rest in Highland Cemetery, Lawton, Oklahoma. Joe was born August 22, 1855 in Germany, died January 15, 1941, and was laid to rest in Highland Cemetery, Lawton, Oklahoma.
