When the current church was built across the road, it was named St. Joseph's. There was another Buena Vista in Indiana so this community is now known as Four Corners and is located in Spencer Township in Jennings County.
John was born January 18, 1862 in Jennings County, Indiana, died December 19, 1950 at Cincinnati, Ohio and was laid to rest December 22, 1950 in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Four Corners, Indiana. Frances was born January 25, 1862 at Cincinnati, Ohio, died September 22, 1948 at Indianapolis, Indiana and was laid to rest in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Four Corners, Indiana.
John was the youngest son of John and Marie Elsner. John and Maria came to the United States from a site near the city of Poznan, Prussia in northeast Germany. This area was included in Poland when that country was formed in 1918. At the time of immigration in 1856, the Elsner family consisted of the parents and six children: John (40), Mary (36), August (14), John (14), Joseph (12), Mary (10), Theresa (7), and Pauline (2). While they were living in Cincinnati, Agnes was born in 1858. Following their move to Four Corners, John was born. The older son named John had died, and, wanting a son named John to carry on a family tradition, so when their seventh child was a boy, they named him John Ferdinand.
Frances' parents (Henry and Susan Weisel) came from the state of Bavaria in southwestern Germany in 1861. They also settled in Cincinnati for a short time. During their stay in Cincinnati, Frances was born. At the time of their immigration in 1861, the family consisted of the parents and two children: Henry (45), Susan (39), Barbara (8), and Susanna (4).
John and Frances were the parents of seven children: daughter, August, Henry, Elizabeth, Mathilda, Frank, and John.

was stillborn June 20, 1888 near Four Corners, Indiana and was laid to rest in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Four Corners, Indiana.
