Ambrose August Elsner

Born: September 4, 1916     Died: May 10, 1992

Ambrose Elsner, 75, 1206 Washington Avenue, Seymour, died Sunday at the Lutheran Community Home, Seymour.   He had been in failing health for several months.

Mr. Elsner was born September 4, 1916 in Jennings County to Henry and Rose Megel Elsner.   He married the former Ruth Brackemyre in October, 1950 at Four Corners.   He was a retired carpenter, a World War II veteran and a member of the St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Seymour.

He is survived by his wife, three sons, Timothy, Bloomington, Thomas, Titusville, Florida, and Pete, Seymour and two daughters, Susan Warinner and Lisa Runge, both of Seymour, and five grandchildren.

He is also survived by brothers Oscar Elsner, North Vernon, Carl, Houston, Texas, Paul, Greensburg, Omer, Naples, Florida and sisters Agnes Cardinal, Stella Vogel, Helen Hauersperger, all of North Vernon and Martha Hinnefeld, Seymour.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Ambrose Catholic Church by Father Joseph Sheets.   Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery.   Visitation is at the Voss Chapel on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.

Memorials may be given to the St. Ambrose Catholic Church or the donors choice.
