A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church at Four Corners, he was a retired farmer and also drove a school bus for 25 years. He was a resident of Jennings County most of his life.
Funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Reverend Joe Moriarty officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at Voss and Sons Funeral Home. A prayer service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice of charities or for a Mass dedication.
Mr. Sandhage was born in Jennings County July 17, 1907, the son of Henry and Elizabeth Hauersperger Sandhage. He married Laura Carr September 7, 1932, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. She survives.
Also surviving are children, Charles Sandhage of Columbus, Carolyn Prewitt of Reddington and Martha Porter of Seymour; grandchildren, Therese Jones, Claudia Sandhage, Lisa Cline and James, Andrew and Craig Prewitt; a brother, Edward Sandhage of Seymour; a sister, Irene Schultheis of Seymour; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Henry and Raymond Sandhage.
