Alice Simmons, 91, Seymour, died Monday, December 29, 2003, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour.

Alice M. Simmons, 91, Hayden, died at 10:20 p.m. Monday, December 29, 2003, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour.
Mrs. Simmons was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hayden, and of the Rosary Society. She had worked at the shoe factory and as a cook.
Born August 28, 1912, in Jennings County, she was a daughter of Albert and Clara Foy Hauersperger, who both preceded her in death. On August 28, 1935, in Jennings County, she married Lawrence Earl Simmons, who preceded her in death January 14, 1975.
She is survived by a daughter, Donna Osterman, Dudleytown; a son, Lawrence (Linda) Simmons, Indianapolis; four grandchildren, Damian and Andrew Simmons, Denise (Stephen) Beeler and Michael (Wendy) Tormoehlen; four great-grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Everett Ray Shields.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith Shields; a brother, Gilbert Hauersperger; and a sister, Edith Vogel.
The Reverend Ryan McCarthy will conduct Mass at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Four Corners, with burial at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Hayden.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at Voss and Sons Funeral Service, Voss Chapel, Seymour. A rosary will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or donor’s choice.
