Audrey Verona Speck Colvin

Audrey V. Speck Colvin, 75, of Seymour died at 10:21 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2002, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

She was a seamstress at J.C. Penney more than 20 years and was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church.

She was a member of Daughters of Isabella, American Legion Auxiliary, Jackson County Hospital Guild, Seymour Elk Auxiliary and Seymour Women’s Bowling Association.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church with the Reverend John Hall officiating.   Calling will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Voss & Sons Funeral Service and from 10 a.m. until time of service Friday at the church.   Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Thursday at Voss Chapel.   Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Four Corners.

Memorials may be made to St. Ambrose church or school.

Mrs. Colvin was born April 5, 1926, in Dayton, Kentucky, the daughter of Leo and Mary Leflett Speck.   She married Ralph G. Colvin January 17, 1948, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. He died September 16, 1998.

She is survived by daughters, Dorothy Day, Mary Louise Voss, Jane Nowling, Theresa Schwartz and Barbara Marling, all of Seymour; sons, Anthony and Timothy Colvin, both of Seymour, and Thomas Colvin of Sheridan; 20 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Floyd Speck, Delmar Speck and Wilfred Speck, and an infant sister, Helen Rose Speck.
