Bertha R. Wood, 83, of Bloomington, died Monday at Bloomington Hospital.

Arrangements are pending at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene & Harrell Chapel.

Bertha Rebecca Wood, 83, of Bloomfield, died Monday at Bloomington Hospital.

Born June 22, 1917, in Hayden, she was the daughter of Charles and Clara (Megel) Carr.

She was a self-employed beautician since 1933 and a member of St. Charles Catholic Church.

Survivors include one son, William R. Wood of Bloomington; one daughter, Jane Spires of Bloomington; three sisters, Laura Sandhage and Wilma Richart, both of Seymour, and Mabel Etter of Martinsville; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Wood, and one brother.

Memorial services will be 7:30 p.m. today at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene and Harrell Chapel, with Sister Concetta Fabo officiating.   Entombment will be at Valhalla Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Bloomington.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until services today at the funeral home.
