Charles Ernest Nichter

Born: March 22, 1924     Died: March 26, 1991

Charles E. Nichter, 67, of Bridge City, Texas, and formerly of Seymour died suddenly March 26 at home.

Mr. Nichter was a member of the Lutheran Church and a U. S. Navy veteran.   He was a self-employed painter and formerly worked at Arvin Industries.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.   He attended Shields High School.

Born March 22, 1924, in Jackson County, he was the son of Frank L. and Ruth Carr Nichter.   On January 21, 1950, he married Frieda Webb at Jonesville.   She survives.

Other survivors include a son, Frank Joe Nichter, Chicago; a daughter, Nancy Ellen Hauser, Raleigh, North Carolina; a brother, Willard Nichter, Seymour; five sisters, Hazel Butcher, Seymour; Gladys Weasner, Jonesville; Mrs. Albert (Ruby) Toborg, Seymour; Mrs. John (Muriel) Carr, North Vernon R4; and Esther Wright, Fountaintown; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, a brother and a sister.

Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Voss Chapel, Seymour.   The Reverend David McClain will officiate.   Military graveside services will be conducted.   Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. until time of service Friday at the chapel.
