Mrs. Hamilton was a 1947 graduate of Seymour High School and attended Stephens College and Butler University. She was Jackson County recorder from 1971 to 1978, county clerk from 1980 to 1988 and county auditor from 1989 from 1992.
She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, State Assembly Women’s Club, Elks and American Legion auxiliaries, State Auditors Association, Women’s Democrat Club and Delta Theta Tau sorority. She was an honorary member of Girls Club and had been a democratic vice committeewoman.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church with the Reverend John Hall officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Voss & Sons Funeral Service and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the church. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.

Mrs. Hamilton was born in Kendallville October 22, 1929, the daughter of Robert James and Clara Leone Watterson Brown. She married Robert F. Speckner April 28, 1950. He died March 5, 1969. She married Richard Hamilton October 26, 1985. He survives.
Also surviving are daughters, Cynthia Schepman of Germantown and Bethany Heavin of Greenwood; six grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Aimee Lee Taylor; and a brother, Robert J. Brown Jr.
