Dale Eugene Gerth

Dale Eugene Gerth, 38, of 19021 Anthony Avenue, Country Club Hills, Illinois, died suddenly at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday at South Suburban Hospital in Hazelcrest, Illinois.

He was director of computer services for the Chicago Sun-Times, formerly employed at Arvin Industries in Columbus, and was a member of St. Emeric Catholic Church in Country Club Hills, Illinois.

Born October 10, 1945, in Seymour, he was the son of the late Cecil and Apphia Wohrer Gerth, who survive at North Vernon R6.

He moved from Columbus to the Chicago area five years ago.

He married Coleen E. Carr on October 16, 1965, in Four Corners.   She survives.

Other survivors include five daughters, Terri Gerth, Petrina Gerth, Danette Gerth, Jacquelyn Gerth and Christa Gerth, all at home; one son Allan Gerth, at home; seven brothers, Ralph Gerth, Seymour; Jerry Gerth, Cerritoes, California; Donald Gerth, Butlerville; Louis Gerth, Jackson, Mississippi; and Walter Gerth, Cecil 'Pete' Gerth Jr. and Rick Gerth, all of North Vernon; and three sisters, Carole Elam, Columbus; Alice Ogilvie, Seymour; and Helen Collins, North Vernon.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Michele Gerth.

Services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Four Corners, with Father James Arneson officiating.   Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Memorials may be designated to Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis.   Arrangements were handled by Voss Funeral Home in Seymour.
