Edith Marie Hauersperger Carr Vogel

Edith Marie Vogel, 84, of North Vernon died at 6 a.m. Sunday, November 21, 1999, at her home.

Mrs. Vogel was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Four Corners, where she was a member of the Rosary Society.

Funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Reverend Joe Brown officiating.   Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 to 9 a.m. Wednesday at Voss and Sons Funeral Home in Seymour.   A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.   Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Building Fund or the donor’s choice of charities.

Mrs. Vogel was born in Four Corners June 30, 1915, the daughter of Albert Adam and Clara Elizabeth Foy Hauersperger.   She married Henry Charles Carr April 25, 1935, at Four Corners.   He died September 11, 1953.   She married Sylvester Joseph Vogel July 23, 1959, in Four Corners.   He died November 28, 1989.

Survivors include sons Charles, Tom, Bob and Paul Vogel and David and Henry Carr, all of North Vernon, and Leonard Vogel of Dupont; daughters Kathlene Baurley, Elizabeth Bridges and Joyce Vogel, all of North Vernon, Coleen Gerth of Seymour, Anna Mae Raver of Oldenburg, Jeanette Heckman of Greenville, Michigan, Maria Tempest of Pekin and Marie Laymon of Lexington; a sister, Alice Simmons of Hayden; 57 grandchildren; 55 great-grand-children; and one great-great- grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Gilbert Hauersperger, and grandchildren, Michelle Gerth and Chris and Greg Vogel.
