He retired in 1972 as a contractor and was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church.

Born April 13, 1901, in Jennings County, he was the son of the late John and Frances Weisel Elsner.   He lived most of his life in Jackson County.

He married Rosemary Brewer on February 14, 1928, in Four Corners.   She survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Francis J. Elsner and Leonard J. Elsner, both of Seymour; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one grandson, three brothers and two sisters.

Survices will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Seymour, with Father Joseph Sheets officiating.   Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Four Corners.

Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Voss Chapel in Seymour and from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.   Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today at the mortuary.
