Funeral service was held Monday, September 28, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Father John Schoettelkotte officiating. Burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery. A rosary service was held Sunday evening at the Pickett Funeral Home.
Mr. Speck was retired from Arvin Industries of Seymour after 32 1/2 years service. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and his hobbies were woodworking and gardening.
Born October 12, 1918, in Brooklyn, Iowa, he was the son of Leo and Mary Leflett Speck. He married Mary L. Smith November 25, 1947, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. She survives.
Surviving with his wife are a son, Leo Speck of Speedway; three daughters, Mary M. Bishop of Westport and Helen Fry and Marcia Speck of North Vernon; a brother, Delmar Speck of Inverness, Florida; a sister, Audrey Colvin of Seymour; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Wilfred Speck.
Memorials may be made to the Rolling Hills Shrine Club transportation fund.
