She was born August 24, 1908, in Urbana, daughter of Matthew and Clara Grotfield Hauersperger.   She married Claude Stewart in Thomasboro August 31, 1925.

He survives along with 10 children: Claude R., Folly Beach, South Carolina; Mrs. Paul (Peggy) Jones, Harrah, Washington; Sargeant Donald L., Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Mrs. Monroe (Doris) Bullock, Champaign; Dale R., Champaign; David W., Long Beach, California; Charles M., Spotswood, New Jersey; Victor E., Champaign; Daniel P., with the U.S. Navy in Vietnam; and Mrs. Jerry (Rosalee) Marsh, Tacoma, Washington.

There are 37 grandchildren.

Nine brothers and sisters also survive.   They include: Mrs. Gladys Dean, Rantoul; Mrs. Nellie Robeck, Ludlow; Mrs. Rose Spencer, Baltimore, Maryland; George, Rantoul; John, Kankakee; Charles, Fisher; Bernard, Rantoul; Robert, Rantoul; and James, Fort Morgan, Colorado.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Matthew's Church, Champaign.   Burial will be in St. Elizabeth's cemetery, Thomasboro.
