John Louis Mullady

Born: March 10, 1917     Died: December, 1978

A former mayor of Momence, John L. Mullady, died Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at St. Mary's hospital after an extended illness.

Mullady, 61, 325 North Maple, was Momence's mayor for one two-year term, from 1947 to 1949.   Before his death he owned and operated the Mulaldy Produce company, located on River Street in Momence, with his brother, Tom.

He was born March 10, 1917 at Mt. Ayr, Indiana to Mr. and Mrs. James Mullady.   He married Pauline Shurman November 25, 1945, in Peru, Illinois.   He was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Momence.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Judy Marnell at home; a son James M. at home; one brother, Tom of Momence; and two sisters, Miss Margaret Mullady and Mrs. Mary LeBeau.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at St. Patrick's Church.   Canady-boos Funeral home was in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers included Rex Rowe, Don Zeglis, Arnold Arp, John Parish, Carl Riesing and Ed Soucie.
