Johannes Michael "Mike" Speckner

Born: November 19, 1827     Died: February 6, 1920

Michael Speckner, an aged resident of Jennings County, died at his home near Hayden this morning following an illness with pneumonia fever.   The deceased was 94 years old.

The deceased is survived by six children, Mrs. Barbara Luber, of Highland, Illinois, Mrs. A. Maschino, of Hayden, Mrs. Jesse Everhart, and Joseph Speckner, of this city, and John and Phillip Speckner, of near Hayden, together with a number of grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. His wife died nine years ago.   Mr. Speckner was one of Jennings County’s oldest citizens.

The funeral arrangements, which have not been completed, will be announced later.
