Johnny Riley Bevers

Johnny Riley Bevers, 64, of Seymour died at 11:05 p.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2000, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.   He had been in failing health several years.

A Marine Corps veteran, Mr. Bevers retired from Cummins Engine and was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and the American Legion.

Funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Voss & Sons Funeral Service with the Reverend Joseph Sheets officiating.   Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from noon until service time Friday.   Rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. today.   Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.   Military graveside rites will be conducted by members of Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and Vietnam Veterans.

Mr. Bevers was born in Medora November 14, 1935, the son of the late Ralph W. and Letitia Maynard Bevers.   He married Genieve Loudin October 11, 1975, at Brownstown.   She survives.

Also surviving are children Kerry D. Bevers of Seymour and Dolly Ann Ward of North Vernon; a brother, Frank W. Bevers of Brownstown; a sister, Vivian J. Holman of Greenwood; three grandsons; one granddaughter; and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Bronwyn Strong, and brothers Rex L. and Carl A. Bevers.
