Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday from St. Joseph Catholic Church, Four Corners, with Father James Arneson officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Voss Mortuary after 11 a.m. Thursday. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Voss Chapel.
A native and lifelong resident of Jennings County, Mr. Simmons was born November 17, 1909, to the late Eddie A. Simmons and Cora Myrtle Johnson Simmons, who survives on North Vernon R6. On August 28, 1935, at Four Corners, he married Alice M. Hauersperger, who survives.
Mr. Simmons was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and retired in 1971 from Cummins Engine Company, Columbus, after 18 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors in addition to the mother and widow include two daughters, Mrs. Everett (Judith) Shields, of Seymour R7, and Mrs. John (Donna) Tormoehlen, of Seymour; one son, Lawrence Wayne Simmons, of Indianapolis; one sister, Mrs. Esther Baurley, of North Vernon R6, four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Simmons was preceded in death by two brothers.
