Mary Elizabeth Vogel Maschino

Born: April 12, 1893     Died: July 12, 1963

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Maschino, 70 years old and a resident of Jackson County for the past 30 years, died at her home at 217 South Vine Street at 3 p.m. Friday.   She had been in failing health for several years.

Mrs. Maschino was found by a daughter about 5 p.m.   City firemen and Victor L. Burkholder, Jackson County Coroner, were summoned to the scene.   Burkholder said she had suffered a fatal heart attack.

Mrs. Maschino was born in Jennings County on April 12, 1893, the daughter of Peter and Elizabeth Ackerman Vogel, both deceased.

She was married on November 18, 1913, at Four Corners, to Frank G. Maschino who preceded her in death in 1958.

Mrs. Maschino was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and the St. Ambrose Rosary Society.

Mrs. Maschino is survived by 12 children, Mrs. Leona Brylinski, Seymour; Orville Maschino, Chicago; Mrs. Helen Thoele, Seymour; Dolores Maschino, Seymour; Mrs. Dorothy Hess, Seymour; Mrs. Loretta Henkle, Seymour; Mrs. Angela Hill, Fort Worth, Texas; Mrs. Mildred Thomas, Seymour; Mrs. Mary Jean Kvaal, St. Paul, Minnesota; Marvin Maschino, Seymour R1; Joseph Maschino, Fort Worth, Texas; and Anthony Maschino, Seymour.

Also surviving are five brothers, Nicholas Vogel, Seymour; Leo Vogel, Pleasanton, Iowa; Edward Vogel, Seymour; Albert Vogel, North Vernon R4, and Sylvester Vogel, North Vernon R4 and three sisters, Mrs. Florence Brewer, Seymour; Sister Mary Grace O.S.B., Ferdinand, and Mrs. Nora Burgmeier, Greensburg.   One sister preceded her in death.   There are 31 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted from St. Ambrose Catholic Church at 9 a.m. Monday. Burial in Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may call at Voss Mortuary after 11 a.m. Sunday.   The Rosary Society will recite the rosary at the mortuary at 3 p.m. Sunday.   The rosary will be recited again at 7 p.m. Sunday.
