A lifelong resident of Jackson County, Miss Megel was born March 31, 1889, in Jennings County, the daughter of the late Jacob and Catherine Mang Megel.   She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church.

Surviving are one brother, Joe Megel, of North Vernon; four sisters, Mrs. Charles (Clara) Carr, of Martinsville, Mrs. Joe (Jennie) Hauersperger, Mrs. Andrew (Mary) Speckner, both of Seymour, and Miss Lena Megel, of North Vernon.

Funeral services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Thursday from St. Ambrose Catholic Church with burial in St. Joseph Church cemetery at Four Corners.

Friends may call after noon Wednesday at the Voss Mortuary where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
