Nicholas Vogel

Born: November 10, 1874     Died: April 17, 1963

Nicholas Vogel, of Malcom Iowa, an elderly Jennings County native, died at 7 a.m. today in a hospital at Grinnell, Iowa.   Although he had been in ill health for some time, his death occurred suddenly.

Mr. Vogel, a retired farmer who formerly resided in the Four Corners community, was the husband of the late Elizabeth Maschino, who preceded him in death about five years ago.

He was a member of the Catholic church.

Survivors include seven children, Victor and Frank Vogel, both of Malcolm, Iowa, Charles Vogel, of Grinnell, Iowa, Louis Vogel, of northern Indiana, Father Lawrence Vogel, of Nichols, Iowa, Father Raymond Vogel, of Davenport, Iowa, and Mrs. Elizabeth Kohrman, of Florence, Kentucky, and several nieces and nephews in the local area.

Mr. Vogel was the last member of his immediate family, and was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Brooklyn, Iowa.   Burial in a cemetery there.
