She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Seymour, was a housewife and a member of Daughters of Isabella.
Mrs. Speck was born on May 13, 1890, in Jennings County, to Adam and Margaret Gerringer Hauersperger. She lived most of her life in Jackson and Jennings counties. She married Ambrose P. Speck on August 8, 1911, in Seymour. He died on November 2, 1949.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Von (Aurelia) Weddle, New Albany; a sister, Mary Babb, Champaign, Illinois; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, a grandchild, five brothers and two sisters.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Seymour. The Reverend Joseph Sheets will officiate. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday and from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Voss Chapel, Seymour. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Voss Chapel, Seymour.
