Ronald Eugene Cooper, 72, 813 West Cross Street, died July 7, 1993, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis after being stricken Tessday at his residence.
He was born january 17, 1921, in Summitville, and had lived in Anderson most of his life. He had worked in the shipping department for Inland Fisher Guide, retiring in 1975 from Overseas Shipping Department after 35 years of employment.
He was a member of New Horizon United Methodist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 266 and American Legion Post 127. He served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Eveleen (Cruea) Cooper, whom he married December 22, 1946, in Anderson; two sons, Larry E. (Tammie) Cooper of Brighton, Michigan; and David C. (Andrea) Cooper of Elkhart; two brothers, Charles F. (Evelyn) Cooper of Naples, Florida, and Gerald (Pat) Cooper of Frankton; a sister, Mrs. George (Geri) Bennett of Sarasota, Florida; and four grandchildren, Kristina L. Cooper of New Castle, Daniel C. Cooper, Leah R. Cooper and Dallas C. Cooper, all of Elkhart.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with the Reverend Steven Ailes of New Horizon United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by VFW Post 266.
