A native of Indianapolis, he was born June 11, 1940, the son of Donald W. and Mabel E. Carr Etter. In 1963 he was married to Nina Payton, who survives him.
The former Indianapolis resident had resided in Martinsville for 20 years, and graduated from the local high school in 1958. Mr. Etter belonged to St. Martin’s Catholic Church, and was a member of its Knights of Columbus and the Bishop Chatard Fourth Degree in Indianapolis.
Besides his widow, he leaves his parents, who reside in Martinsville; a son Donald, at home, and two brothers, Robert and Gary Etter, also of Martinsville.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday morning at 10 o’clock at St. Martin’s Catholic Church with the Reverend Charles Sexton officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Neal and Summers Mortuary Sunday from 12 o’clock noon until 9 o’clock that evening.
Rosary will be recited Sunday night at 7:30 at the mortuary.
