A 16-year-old Seymour boy, who police said they believe was despondent over family problems, shot himself in the head Sunday morning.
Scott Bradley Nichter, R1, shot himself with a .22-caliber rifle at 8:30 a.m. Sunday while talking on the telephone, an Indiana State Police report said.
He was a junior at Seymour High School and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Born July 10, 1962, in Seymour, he was a son of Mike and Patricia Taskey Nichter.
Survivors include his parents; a brother, Jay Michael, at home; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Nichter, Seymour, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kilgas, Seymour.
Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Reverend Ronald Mueller officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may call until 9 p.m. today at Voss Mortuary and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
